Why Not 1: Redesigning the “MS Paint” Logo of DMCI Homes
DMCI Homes, a real-estate builder and developer, started it’s operations in 1999. In that short amount of time they have managed to become one of the leading young players in the highly competitive realty industry building more than a dozen prime residential properties for more than 5,000 families.
In this first part of One Design PH’s “Why Not”. I’ll suggest my own take on existing brand logos. Whipping up a quick and simple logos that (hopefully) improves the latter, or if not, suggests a viable alternative.
New UCPB Logo: From Coconut Planting to Kung-Fu Fighting
UCPB or United Coconut Planters Bank started in 1963 as a small commercial bank catering to coconut farmers hence the name. Their last logo remained unchanged since the 1980's -- until now.
The infinity-like sign in our new logo represents two hands clasping each other – yours and ours. They symbolize the solid partnership that we seek to build you. The perpetual motion they suggest reflects our commitment to continue innovating to keep abreast of your evolving needs.
2010 Election coverage by ABS-CBN 2 and GMA 7: Dark versus Light
These are the (official?) logos of the two leading television stations in the Philippines, ABS-CBN and GMA, for the country’s 2010 Elections.
ABS-CBN is continuing their campaign “Boto Mo iPatrol Mo” for their Halalan 2010 while GMA 7’s Eleksyon 2010 coverage recently held the Eleksyon 2010 Run at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Islands Group: Conquering one island at a time
Dynamic. Fun. Fresh.
Words that can describe the hip and chic look of Islands Group, makers of the famous Island Souvenirs. I own a couple of Island souvenir and like their shirts. The designs are creatively crafted and skillfully screenprinted (even those intricate details are clearly embossed), far from those shirts usually seen on local souvenir stores.
One Design PH Launches
Hello! Welcome to 1DPH. The blog that talks about design, branding, logos, illustration and anything creatively Filipino.
This blog would share some of my insights as a designer on stuffs about design and branding. The design realm is too large that I can’t even specialize on a topic!
It would be safe to say that anything about good and bad design would be talked about here (yes, I know designs are relatively good and bad to the people looking at it) I’ll just share a point or two of my own opinion.
Thanks for visiting!
